Lake Powell is an amazing RV destination. Many people don’t know of the ease and convenience of RV parks compared to camping or staying on a houseboat. The RVLock Family loves to visit Lake Powell and of course we take our RV. Why are RV parks around Lake Powell such a great place to stay? Let’s talk about it.
If you are part of the RV community you know the benefits of bringing your home on wheels with you; sleeping in your own bed, A/C, plenty of storage, and having a comfortable place to spend time both in the day and night. There are various campgrounds near each Lake Powell marina but all offer a similar experience.
The campgrounds we’ve stayed at have offered the essentials for a comfortable stay; water and power hook-ups. Lake Powell is in the desert and the lake is the main attraction so the RV Parks don’t offer many other accommodations. When RVing at Lake Powell you really don’t notice the lake of additional accommodations. If you are there to have a long day at the lake and a comfortable place to rest, Lake Powell’s Campgrounds will be perfect for you.
The Campgrounds are almost all relatively close to the boat drop-in and marina. This makes for a convenient walk or short drive to get to your fun day on the water. Most of the campgrounds also have a beautiful view of Lake Powell to enjoy from your RV or from a relaxing walk around the campground.
Some of the drawbacks are that they are mostly dirt and gravel, which can be dusty as you’re getting in and out of your rig. Some of the hook-ups were out of order so the spaces to stay in were limited. Overall, we’ve been very satisfied with our stays at Lake Powell Campgrounds but our favorite is Wahweap Campground.
Wahweap Campground has full hook-ups, has paved roads, and is very well maintained. That is our top pick for a Lake Powell campground if you will be staying near Antelope or Wahweap Marinas.
We hope this blog post helped you realize how fun Lake Powell can be while staying in your RV.
See You On The Road!
