Best RV Apps Overall:

Togo RV

The Togo RV app now includes RV-specific navigation as a Roadpass Pro feature ($49.99 annually). Simply select where you want to go, enter your vehicle measurements, and choose from nine route preferences, like propane restrictions, tunnels, toll roads, and more. The app will create a route tailored to your RV and preferences, so you can drive worry-free.

Roadtrippers

If you believe that getting there is half the fun, Roadtrippers is the app for you. Just enter your starting and ending location, and Roadtrippers offers you the chance to add stops to your route, including attractions, accommodations, dining, campgrounds, and more. It even calculates an estimated cost for fuel. The basic version is free to use, but for a $29.99 annual upgrade (also included with a Roadpass Pro membership), you get unlimited stops, live traffic updates, and more.

Best Apps and Resources for Planning Overnight RV Stops:

Overnight RV Parking

Overnight RV Parking is the largest database of free overnight RV parking locations in North America, and access is included as a benefit of a Roadpass Pro membership. You can search by your current location, or by a city, state, or zip code to find overnight parking for your RV. Each location is color coded, so you can easily tell if it allows free parking, paid parking, or is part of a membership. It even shows which locations don’t allow overnight parking, so you never have to worry if the Walmart in town will let you stay.

Campendium

Campendium lists a wide range of overnight camping spots, from RV parks to free dispersed camping sites. You can search on both the website and app to see photos and reviews from campers who have stayed in each location. It lists what (if any) amenities are available at each site and what cell phone coverage is like, a useful feature for those working on the road.

AllStays

AllStays is a robust resource for planning an RV trip. It shows you RV-friendly Walmart locations, RV service stations, and low-clearance bridges along your route. It also displays restaurants, accommodations, points of interest, and rest areas. AllStays is fast and reliable—all the information is downloaded to your phone, so you don’t need to rely on cell phone service. AllStays Pro costs $34.95 annually or you can download one of the apps, like Camp & RV, with a one-time purchase (prices range from free to $9.99, depending on the app).

Harvest Hosts

Want to park overnight at a winery, brewery, or farm? Harvest Hosts is a membership site that lets self-contained RVs park overnight at unique locations across the U.S. A basic Harvest Hosts subscription costs $99 per year and allows you to stay overnight for free at more than 1,700 locations. Sites typically offer dry camping and members are encouraged to purchase something from the host to thank them for their hospitality. You can also purchase an upgraded golf membership for $139 a year, which includes parking at golf courses and country clubs. For more information about Harvest Hosts read here.

Ultimate US Public Campgrounds

Want to know about public campgrounds where you’re headed? Ultimate US Public Campgrounds is the app for you. It also provides information about the number of RV sites, electric hookups, showers, and more. Since public campgrounds tend to be less expensive than private campgrounds (or sometimes even free), it’s a useful app for those trying to stay on a budget. Of the more than 41,000 public campgrounds in the database, half cost $10 or less. The price to download the app is $3.99.

The Best RV GPS Navigation Apps:

CoPilot

COPILOT GPS features an app specifically designed for RVs. Simply input information about your rig, and CoPilot will find the appropriate route for your rig’s weight and height. Maps are available in both 2D and 3D versions and include detailed information about road signs and turn lanes. Audio navigation and speed limit indicators make it easy to safely use CoPilot while driving without looking at the screen. Offline maps can be stored on your device, meaning you’ll never go without a map, even when driving in remote areas. You can also easily search for and add roadside stops to your route. A 14-day free trial is available, and an annual subscription costs $29.99.

RV Trip Wizard

Like CoPilot, RV TRIP WIZARD allows you to customize your route based on your RV’s restrictions. However unlike CoPilot, this app doesn’t provide full audio navigation. You can download maps to use in Google Maps, which is a handy feature for those who prefer navigating from a familiar app. RV Trip Wizard offers more powerful trip-planning features, including campground searches and trip budgeting. If you are a member of any camping clubs (such as KOA or Good Sam), you can even prioritize those options when searching for an RV park. This app costs $49.99 after your 7-day free trial.

inRoute

INROUTE certainly shares many features with the previously mentioned apps, but it has one unique feature RVers might especially appreciate. This app allows you to devise a route based on various options, including curviness and elevation. Travelers to mountainous regions will especially appreciate this if they’d like to avoid white-knuckle drives. inRoute also checks the weather, giving you a heads up about severe weather ahead. Expect to pay $29.99 per year although, a free 7-day trial allows you to try it out first.

As an added bonus, GasBuddy even displays fuel prices, helping you to find the cheapest cost on your route, which is something you’ll appreciate if your RV causes you to use more fuel. There’s so many organized communities (called Groups) on Facebook (available here for Android and here for iPhone) that are helpful to new RVers- full-time RVing, boondocking, women RVers, whatever group you’re looking for, there’s probably an existing community or you can create one! There are stories of families meeting on Facebook and then plan a trip together to meet in real life!

There are thousands of Amazon Lockers and Hubs in over 900 cities across the United States, in convenient places like grocery stores or gas stations. Once your package has been delivered to the locker you selected you’ll receive an email from Amazon including a code. Just show up at the locker location, input your code, and the locker with your package will pop open.

RV block was the single best purchase we have made as full timers.
We know our camper is secure and bid we are away and need someone to get into our camper to get something for us we can give them a code, over the phone. If we want to change the code it is just a 2 minute process.
We have 2 entry doors so we bought 2 keyed alike. The fobs have 2 separate bottoms for the 2 doors.
Only problem is the fobs are delicate.
But that’s a small problem for the great benefits.
Thank you TV lock.
Happy camper/customer Norm
