Door lock

I realize it's an open box, but had to finesse it in the door .. slightly tilted to fit leaving a small hole on the top corner .. otherwise okay ..

Works

Bought a refurbished unit for my 97 Demon Day Break, had to make a little mod to striker plate but works great.

Solid build quality, Easy Install, Great Upgrade!

These are a really good upgrade. Now you don't have to worry about locking yourself out or carrying keys around the campground (We still have a hide-a-key for the unlikely power lock failure scenario). If your door is not made exactly to specs you may have to fiddle around to get the lock to align perfectly (on ours the aluminum frame inside the door was out of square but a little judicious hammer work got the lock to go right in!). These locks are built very stout, you get what you pay for! Miscreants will have to destroy your door before they get past this device! I expect these will be much more reliable than the manual locks that seem to have a high failure rate breaking internally. This is probably because if the door gets out of alignment (common with the flimsy build quality of RV doors), people keep using them, forcing the bound up mechanism to work instead of fixing it resulting in the deadbolt mechanism breaking, jamming the door in the locked position. If the door gets tweaked with one of these power locks, I do not think the internal motor is strong enough to damage the deadbolt. In this case, you would could the key to get back in but be more inclined to properly readjust the door to return to automatic operation before you ham-fisted break something!

-Charter Lock
-first off prt was not only an open box but had been installed and used a bit
-not sure how to overcome the problem with limited access between inner door lock and opening in screen door. Cannot pull the door closed
-part came with a new striker plate. No screws for striker plate and could use old ones because they are different size
-fisrt attempt to installl was not successful. Reinstalled original
