Places that Have Perfect Spring Weather
Spring is an exciting time of year because that means summer is right around the corner. Depending on where you live in the U.S., spring could mean lots of rainstorms, mud, and sometimes even more snow. If you are eager to de-winterize your RV but don’t want to wait until the summer season to do so, then you don’t have to! Why wait for summer to enjoy the sun, beautiful scenery, and camp with family and friends? If you’re ready to adventure, then here are some places around the U.S. with perfect spring weather that you can travel to in your RV.
1. Miami, Florida
If you want to head south on spring break, then enjoy the 70- to 80-degree days in Miami! Known as having great weather in both the spring and fall, you can’t go wrong with relaxing on Miami Beach, walking around Bayside Marketplace, and exploring the wetlands and waterscapes of Everglades National Park, just an hour outside of Miami, this time of year.
2. San Diego, California
At some point in your life, maybe you’ve heard someone talk about how amazing the weather is in San Diego. Known as having some of the best weather year round, consider heading to the west coast this spring in your RV! Soak up the sun on several beaches, such as La Jolla Cove to swim or surf. While here, you can also take your RV to Joshua Tree National Park to explore the desert.
3. Grand Canyon, Arizona
The Grand Canyon is a vast landscape with extraordinary views that spread 277 miles long, 18 miles wide, and over one mile deep. Grand Canyon National Park is a great place to go in the spring because you can beat the crowds and heat that summer brings. If you are visiting in late spring, you can head to the North Rim, since it has cooler temperatures, to hike Bright Angel Point Trail, or head to the South Rim for iconic views of the canyon, such as from Desert View Point.
4. Sedona, Arizona
If you are planning on visiting the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, then it’s worth driving a couple of hours to Sedona, Arizona right after. With temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s, this rocky landscape is the perfect place to go in the spring. Immerse yourself in wine country at the Verde Valley Wine Trail, hike the iconic Devil’s Bridge Trail, and enjoy scenic views of red rock cliffs!
5. Breckenridge, Colorado
If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, then Breckenridge in the spring is a must. Whether you prefer to snowboard at Breckenridge Resort or drive a couple hours to hike in the iconic Rocky Mountain National Park, there are endless ways to enjoy the spring here. Once the snow melts away, late spring in Breckenridge is known for its fields of beautiful wildflowers, like dandelions!
6. Charleston, South Carolina
Known for its good weather, walking the cobble-stone streets of Charleston in the spring is a must. With temperatures often in the 70’s, you can comfortably explore some of the coolest spots, such as the picture-worthy Charleston Harbor or the Gothic Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist. The city’s southern roots and lively environment makes it one of many great places in the Carolinas.
7. Washington, D.C.
Known for its beautiful cherry blossoms, Washington D.C. is a dreamy place in the spring. Temperatures are usually in the 60’s, making it comfortable to walk around the city all day. You can also get active by riding bikes down some popular trails, such as the 8-mile Metropolitan Branch Trail or the Anacostia River Trail. What’s more, the city offers stunning waterfront views by the Potomac and Anacostia rivers.
8. Orlando, Florida
If you want to take your grandkids somewhere special in the spring, then bring them to the magic of Walt Disney World in Orlando. With temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s, it’s a comfortable time of year to stand in the sun all day, go on rides, and walk around the park. Plus, you can relax by the beach on the days where you don’t go to the resort, such as Vero Beach or Cocoa Beach.
